This qualification is for anyone wishing to teach or train adults and it leads to the nationally recognised BTEC 7303 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector PTLLS certificate. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, but applicants must be considering a subject for delivery and be aiming to achieve / or have achieved a qualification and experience in their subject skill at the appropriate level. This course lasts five days and is suitable for staff training on your own premises. We also run PTLLS courses open to individuals at our training centre in London.

This Award is for new entrants to the Lifelong Learning Sector - you don't need any prior teaching experience or qualifications. It also suits people working in the area already who want to gain official qualifications.

You should have an idea of what subject you'd like to teach, and either have or be working towards a qualification in that area.

• Assessment methods
• Evaluation strategies

This is a professional teaching qualification and the course requires your active participation and the completion of coursework assignments. Assignments are set by EDEXCEL and comprise a theory assignment and a practical assignment. Assessment includes delivering a 20-minute teaching session to the rest of the group. You will need to be able to express yourself effectively both orally and in writing. You will need a qualification or experience in the subject area you intend to teach.
